Sunrise is open to the public. We provide a permanent shelter for OVER 170 animals; giving loving, knowledgeable and quality care for previously abused, neglected, disabled, and unwanted animals.

About Us
Founded in 2001 by director Mindy Mallet, Sunrise Sanctuary, Inc. is a private 16-acre animal rescue and sanctuary located in Marysville, just west of Dublin, OH.
We are a private non-profit charity (IRS # 20-65462) who relies on your donations for everything we do to care for the animals. Sunrise provides a safe haven for over 170 abused, neglected, disabled and otherwise unwanted animals to live out the balance of their natural lives in a loving small farm setting. This is a permanent shelter for the animals providing kindness, knowledgeable care, and respect. All of our animals are rescues. Since we are a non-profit sanctuary, all animals (regardless of background or disability) will live out their lives in peace, with your help. Schedule Your Visit
We would love to have you visit us. Schedule your appointment in advance.
Although we do not charge a specific visitors fee at this time, please be considerate as we are a donation-funded rescue sanctuary. We have NO paid staff. Every little bit helps pay for ongoing feed, vet bills, and animal care. All funds support keeping this sanctuary running for all to enjoy. We really need your support. Our volunteer staff is limited, so please contact us in advance to arrange your visit; either email Mindy, or call her at (937) 578-8771. The animals love to eat whole wheat bread, apples, carrots and romaine lettuce. Our Location

Unlike modern factory farms, Sunrise Sanctuary animals are free to:

move and exercise freely, and roost in barns

Over 285 million hens that are raised for eggs each year are arguably the most abused of all livestock animals. These birds spend the entirety of their lives packed 7 or 8 hens to each battery cage. This gives each animal the space of slightly smaller than a piece of paper.

eat healthy food and drink fresh water every day

Males are raised for veal. They are starved and restricted from any movement so their meat is "tender".

socialize in an abuse-free natural setting while being loved and respected

Pigs live their sad lives in these crates 24/7 to provide ham and bacon.
