7:43am-Yesterday, one of the times I did my rounds it looked like the horses were in a meeting. They were up to something that was for sure, as they casually went off single file when I came out there. Strawberry back row, center is the ring leader of this gathering. I can tell by the expression on her face. Now, that horse is a character. Anyone who meets her knows that. The vets and Max, our farrier, think she has too much personality and is always outsmarting different situations. But, she can be a sweetheart too, when she is in the mood to be. :)
Strawberry has actually come along way. Her and Lakota, lighter colored one in front, came from a farm where they weren't handled alot and were mostly out in pasture for six years. So, they had to start in the back yard where I could work with them to be able to catch them.
Now they're fairly easy to catch, as long as, Strawberry isn't in one of her moods. Lakota is an easy catch now, but when Strawberry is in a mood, she will run between us and break my grip on the halter. JJ the smallest one by Danny has always been an easy catch. He's a little sweetheart. Ornery, but a sweetheart. He reminds us of a little teddy bear. Though he thinks he's a tough guy!
Regardless, I love all the different personalities. Just like people, it would be boring if they were all the same!!!
