Founded in 2001 by director Mindy Mallet, Sunrise Sanctuary, Inc. is a private 16-acre animal rescue and sanctuary located in Marysville, just west of Dublin, OH.
We are a private non-profit charity (IRS # 20-0065462) who relies on your donations for everything we do to care for the animals. Sunrise provides a safe haven for over 170 abused, neglected, disabled and otherwise unwanted animals to live out the balance of their natural lives in a loving small farm setting. This is a permanent shelter for the animals providing kindness, knowledgeable care, and respect.
All of our animals are rescues. Since we are a non-profit sanctuary, all animals at Sunrise (regardless of background or disability) will live out their lives in peace, with your help.
Mindy is the original heart and soul of Sunrise Sanctuary.
She created the sanctuary to give these animals a place to be accepted and loved. Mindy cares for the animals on a daily basis; giving healthy foods, fresh water, ensures they all have proper vet care, and lots of love. She knows and respects each animals personality.
She does a lot of rescue work, which gives the animals an opportunity to get out of inhumane and miserable treatment, and many times, an upcoming horrible and painful death.
You will find Mindy has an aversion to cages. Sunrise animals are free to roam, bask in the sun, cuddle into the straw, slop through a puddle, and sleep as long as they want to. After all, they have earned it.
